Landsborough Ave Scarborough history

Updated: Jul 12, 2023

With some wonderful recent posts showing images and info about Landsborough Ave in Scarborough , We thought we would share some information and photos of local shops, theatres and homes from the 1940s and 1960s, that have come into the shop recently for our new book.

Photos include a 1956 and 1969 aerial showing the location of the shops on Landsborough Ave from Anderson St to Bunton St.

Photos and wonderful coloured slides donated by family members include the recently demolished former Bay Theatre building, the Nifty Fifty Self Service Store (now the Friendly Grocer store) and the recently removed Anchorage Guest House (at 79 Landsborough Ave)
