Updated: Sep 28, 2023

Music has always featured in Kerry Nicholson's life. Born in Roma. Initially schooled in Townsville and completed in Redcliffe, where his father was a policeman. He played with a number of cover bands including a 5 year gig at Brisbane's Hamilton Hotel. He played bass at the Sydney Opera House where he accompanied Kamahl in a live show. Investing in PA equipment which he hired out, led him to a career change. His first gig hiring was supplying sound equipment for the Australian/New Zealand tour of the Pirates Of Penzance' starring Jon English and Simon Gallagher. For the next 24 years he commuted between the USA and Australia providing sound equipment for the 'Vans Warped Tour'.

During 2001 he toured the United States with Pledge Of Allegiance, Slipknot, Ramstein and System Of A Down. During this period he also toured with Jack Johnson and Ben Harper.

Slipknot's tour manager went on to become Dolly Parton's manager, and later invited Kerry to work with the star in Nashville as her sound production manager.
