Angela Raines-White was born and raised in Redcliffe, attending Our Lady Help of Christians, Soubirous College & Frawley College Scarborough and Clontarf High School.

Angela started her running career at 10 years of age and during her 11 years competed at State, National and International levels.

A middle distance athlete in 800m, 1500m, 1 mile, she also competed in various cross country meets up to international level and has represented Australia at International Level on 6 occasions.

Highlights of her career include:

-Winning the Olympic Dream 1500m


-Queensland Women's Mile record holder (3.43.89 at the 1989 1 Mile Invitational)


-11th at the 1990 World Junior Championships in Plovdiv,Bulgaria. 3000m (heat1 2nd 9.18.19, Final 11th 9.27.66)



-2nd in the Diet Coke Mile in Sydney (close 2nd behind Mary Decker-Slaney USA)


-2nd in the 1994 Australian Cross Country Championships in Nowra - 6km 21.45


4th at the 1995 Optus Grand Prix in Brisbane - 5km 16.02.63


2nd (1st Australian - behind Sonia O'Sullivan ) 1995 Australian Championships Sydney - 1500m - 4.17.80


-7th place representing Australian in the 1990 Kagome International Women's Ekiden (4th leg 4.5km 15.39)


-9th place Representing Australia in the 1994 Chiba International Ekiden Relay in November 1994 (3rd leg 10km 34.06)
